About

Amie McClaran

With over thirteen years of experience working as a staff attorney to Idaho district court judges, I understand how to organize and present legal arguments in a manner that is effective and useful for the court. During my time as a staff attorney, I drafted hundreds of decisions and orders for the courts and reviewed and analyzed countless briefs submitted by attorneys. I researched issues for a wide variety of cases, including felony criminal matters and complex civil litigation. I particularly enjoy the challenges associated with researching and analyzing issues of first impression.

I take pride in producing a polished finished product that can be presented to the court with few, if any, revisions. My work experience includes teaching English and grammar, assisting post-graduate students as a writing tutor, and tutoring law school graduates taking the Idaho Bar Exam.

Although my writing style is concise, working for several different judges during the course of my career has given me the ability to adapt my style in order to match the writing style of those for whom I produce written work. I look forward to opportunities to utilize my experience writing for the court to assist attorneys in presenting effective arguments to the court.
